Here we find one of her formal still lifes. Although a lot
of her more famous works include a very busy composition of many objects
grouped tightly, I found this one most pleasing in its simplicity. What looks
as pieces from a dollhouse, Groover composes a dynamic scene where muted tones
are complimented by the use of color. Both leading lines and the use of shallow
depth of field guide the viewer’s eye through the image.
